Our American story reminds us freedom is an American value. Freedom means ‘life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness’ in the Declaration of Independence. The U.S. Constitution guarantees these freedoms: speech, religion, association, right to privacy, rights of accused, and right to vote. Guiding us out of the Great Depression, Franklin D. Roosevelt called for Four Freedoms: Freedom of speech, Freedom of worship, Freedom from want, and Freedom from fear.
Without freedom, we move backward. MAGA Republicans are leading the charge to overthrow the will of the people and take away our freedoms. Only Democrats protect our freedoms and expand rights for people, no matter your race or class.
Changing the MAGA narrative means defining freedom as an American value and showing how Republicans are taking away our rights and freedoms.
Republicans work for the greedy few and the biggest corporations who want all the benefits of government for themselves. They use the usual ‘dog whistles’ to divide us. They depend on the support of their extreme base – insurrectionists, Christian nationalists, and white supremacists.
