Returning Citizens Can Vote!


Everyone votes! And that includes Returning Citizens.


Yes, you can vote! If you have a past conviction, if you are on parole or probation, if you are awaiting sentencing, if you are not incarcerated, you can vote!


Last month, Michigan started a program to help people who had once been imprisoned. Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson made it a priority to reintegrate those who have been imprisoned into active society once they are paroled or released.


If you've been released from jail or prison, check your voter registration and re-register if needed.


If you’ve been told you can’t vote because of a previous jail term, check with the MI-SOS.
