Don't be nice about it. Put a face on the bad guy. Instead of saying 'Our elected officials' say his name and political party. Call out the person leading the attack on our democracy.
For example:
In a nationwide attack, Republicans intentionally lie about election integrity with the intent of destroying faith in democracy. Republican Senator Mike Shirkey has betrayed his oath to Michiganders. Mike wants your vote to be silenced so he can overturn the will of the people. Call right now before the vote goes to the floor and its too late.
