Election Month lets us all Be a Voter

In a democracy everyone’s voice is important. In 2018 Michiganders passed the amazing Prop 3 and now our democracy is stronger! Prop 3 added eight voting policies to the Michigan Constitution, including up to 45 days to vote, straight-ticket voting, automatic voter registration, same-day voter registration, and no-excuse absentee voting.

The result for Michiganders is we have over a month to vote! This creates an ‘Election Month’ so people vote from home for over a month. People have time to apply to get ballots at home, research the candidates and issues, and vote. It’s safe, secure, and convenient. Michiganders can even track ballots online.

We won’t let some politicians discourage us from using Election Month to vote from home. President Trump slammed Democrats’ vote-by-mail proposals in Congress, saying, “They had a level of voting that, if you ever agreed to it, you’d never have a Republican elected in this country again.” Republicans realize that if everyone votes, they will lose power.

With Election Month everyone can be a voter. What direction do you want Michigan or America to take? With Election Month everyone’s voice can be heard. We can all be voters and decide the direction of Michigan - and America.
